Christopher Cohen
French-American violinist, Christopher Cohen is currently pursuing his Masters degree at the Royal College of Music, where he has studied under the guidance of Radu Blidar and Berent Korfker. Brought up in France, he was accepted at age 13 into a part-time school for musicians working in partnership with the Paris Conservatoire.
As a violinist, he has explored many different styles. He studied and performed for four years under the guidance of tango musician Juan-José Mossalini.
He is currently studying jazz with Christian Garrick at the RCM and performs regularly in London.
As a classical musician, he performed as a soloist at the age of 15 with the Gennevilliers Symphony Orchestra. He has participated in master classes taught by violinists including Marianne Piketty, Joseph Pontecelli and Noémie Schindler. Christopher is a scholar of the Royal College of Music. He is currently playing on a Giuseppe Sgarbi Violin from 1880, kindly loaned by the Harrison Franck Foundation.

It is a real pleasure playing this beautiful violin which projects a very colourful tone especially on the lower register whilst still being very well balanced. After only a few months this violin has allowed me to develop new aspects of my playing and I feel there is still a lot to be discovered.’
