British violinist Alexandra Peel made her concert debut in 2013 at Raymond Weil’s Pre-Event for Classic FM Live at the Royal Albert Hall, and since then has performed at some of the UK’s most prestigious venues, including the Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, St Martin-in-the-Fields, the Barbican, and the Royal Overseas League, and recorded at studios such as Abbey Road, Angel, and RAK.
A recent graduate of the Royal College of Music in London, Alexandra earned her Bachelor’s degree with First Class Honours as a Yehudi Menuhin Scholar, studying under Radu Blidar and Emily Sun. Prior to her studies at the RCM, she was a student for nine years at the Purcell School for Young Musicians, under the tutelage of professors Carmel Kaine, Alda Dizdari and Nathaniel Vallois. During her time at the school, she was awarded the Junior String Prize, also winning the Wigmore Chamber Music Competition and the Senior Recital Competition, which led to her performance at Milton Court Concert Hall in London.
Praised for her “wonderful tone” and described as “certainly a name to watch,” Alexandra has performed as a concerto soloist with ensembles including the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra, the Solent Symphony and Chamber Orchestras, the Havant Chamber Orchestra, and the Petersfield Orchestra. Recently, she was named a string finalist in the 2024 Tunbridge Wells International Music Competition, and previously won the Gold Award at the 2nd New Talent British International Music Competition.
As a passionate chamber musician, she has performed alongside internationally acclaimed artists such as the Harlem Quartet, Alireza Ghorbani, and as a member of the LGT Young Soloists. In addition to her live performances, Alexandra has recently featured as the solo violinist on the soundtrack of the upcoming documentary Stopped, produced by the Academy Award-winning production company Slick Films.
