Cyrus is a London-based violinist from Hong Kong with an extensive background in solo, chamber, and recital performances. Having performed across Asia, Europe, and America, he has established himself as a dynamic and versatile musician.
His performances have taken him to renowned venues such as The Great Hall of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, Barbican Hall, Milton Court Hall, The Bechstein Hall, Hong Kong City Hall, and the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. He has also made notable appearances with the Sewanee Festival Orchestra in the USA, performing the Brahms Violin Concerto and Wieniawski’s Faust Fantasy.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, Cyrus studies under the guidance of Professor David Takeno(Eugène Ysaÿe International Chair of Violin), and Professor Stephanie Gonley. He has had the privilege of participating in masterclasses with esteemed violinists Nancy Zhou and Tasmin Little CBE.
Cyrus’s talent and dedication have been recognized through numerous accolades, including the EYMT Norman Harper Prize and sponsorships from the Essex Young Musician Trust and the Brain and Julie Cue Trust, the Guildhall Trust and The Harrison Frank Family Foundation. He was awarded second prize at the Essex Young Musicians Competition and was a finalist in the Luigi Nono International Chamber Music Competition.
Cyrus is currently playing on Pierre Hel violin generously loaned from the Harrison-Frank Family Foundation.
