My name is Cyrus and I’m a violinist from Hong Kong studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama for my final year of my undergraduate degree.
As an international student studying in London wanting to pursue a career as a violin soloist, receiving a generous loan for a violin from the Harrison and Frank Foundation would be an invaluable experience in my artistic and professional development. This loan would
allow me to focus on advancing my technical skills, deepening my musical expression, and gaining exposure to the competitive world of classical music.
The artistic outlook for the next few years would firstly be continuing a postgrad degree at either the Royal Academy of Music or Royal College of Music, which I have just got accepted into both institutions. I am also aiming to participate in different festivals such as the Prussia Cove festival and the Carl Flesh academy which I’m applying for this year. I’ll also be aiming to compete in different national and international competitions such as the Royal Overseas League which I’m trying to apply this year and the Jascha Heifetz international competition and many more to come over the years. I’ll mainly be focusing on this path for the years ahead. Therefore, having the opportunity to play on the very nice violin would definitely benefit me greatly in many ways and would be vital for my artistic and career development.
