Jenny, as of July 2024, graduated with a First-Class BMus hons degree from the Royal Academy of Music, where she studied with Nick Miller. She gradually fostered a love of chamber music through her experiences on Pro Corda courses, where she was coached by various renowned chamber musicians including Rafael Todes, Andrew Watkinson and Matthew Jones. She has since attended classes with members of the Doric, Castilian and Alban Berg Quartets with her quartet, the Slate Quartet, and has performed at the Petworth Festival, Highgrove (the King’s private residence) and the Royal Festival Hall. The Slate quartet are looking forward to the release of their interpretation of Brett Dean’s String Quartet No.1 “Eclipse” in January 2025 with Luminate Records.
She has played professionally with the English National Ballet and Nu Civilisation Orchestras and in 2023 performed in a masterclass with Jennifer Pike as part of the ESTA teaching conference in Cardiff. Other solo recitals have included concerts at Norwich Cathedral, Southwold Arts Festival and the Pimlott Foundation.
Jenny enjoys a variation of music styles and genres – in July 2024 she worked with young jazz artist Emma Rawicz to perform her new compositions in a concert at Pizza Express Live in Soho which they then recorded at Maida Vale Studios in September. She also is interested in the merging of electronics and music, having performed a Spatial Sound demonstration in Dean Street, London in April 2024.
She is very grateful to the Harrison-Frank Family Foundation for granting her the loan of an Italian Marchetti violin.
