Hailing from Malaysia, Kevin completed his studies at the Royal Academy of Music as a Leverhulme Arts Scholar with Martin Outram. He is currently working as an academist with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande in Geneva for its 2025 season.
At the Academy, he was a member of the Sonnen Quartet. They were invited as scholars Chilingirian String Quartet course at West Dean. They were awarded second place at the Historical Women’s Composer’s Prize at the Academy and were finalists at the Nina Drucker Haydn Prize. The Sonnen Quartet have also recorded a song cycle for Baritone and String Quartet by Daniel Davies at the Wigmore Hall.
Prior to the Academy, Kevin studied at the RNCM in Manchester, where he was awarded a full scholarship as a violinist throughout the duration of his undergraduate and postgraduate studies. He earned the highest qualifications in his degrees and was kindly supported by the Allan & Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust, Ann Gerrard Award, Donny Knowles Scholarship, Thomas Jellis Bequest Fund and the Emmanuel Bursary and the HELP Musicians Postgraduate Award.
He has worked alongside the Royal Philhamonic Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Opera North, BBC Philharmonic and Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande.
