Lily Whitehurst

Welsh violinist Lily Whitehurst graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music in 2019, where she studied with Yossi Zivoni. She currently lives in Manchester, where she holds the position of Sub-Principal 2nd Violin with the BBC Philharmonic.

Lily is a keen chamber musician, playing with a variety of ensembles, and particularly enjoys working with Manchester Collective. Some highlights have been their UK tours of Rosewood, Places We Know, Weather, and their debut performance at the BBC Proms.

In recent years Lily has discovered a love for teaching and is now a violin tutor at the University of Manchester. She also works regularly with students at the RNCM on various projects and last year was made an Associate of the RNCM (ARNCM) in recognition of the exceptional contribution she is making to her profession and the college.

She currently plays on a Mark Robinson violin kindly on loan from the Harrison-Frank Family Foundation.
