Sophie Phillips

Sophie started learning the violin aged 7 in her hometown of Northampton. In 2014, Sophie moved to London to study her undergraduate degree at the Royal College of Music, and later continued her studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Following this, she was a member of the Southbank Sinfonia.

Sophie has enjoyed a varied freelance career, performing with orchestras such as the Philharmonia, Royal Philharmonic, BBC Symphony, City of Birmingham Symphony and Bournemouth Symphony Orchestras. She is currently a member of the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

Sophie plays on a violin by Dante Guastalla (1920), on kind loan from the Harrison-Frank Family Foundation.
